Grocera Terms of Service

Effective date: November 2, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Adil Patil, doing business as Grocera ("Grocera," "we," "us"). They cover the Grocera app, including the TestFlight beta, and the website grocera.co. By using Grocera you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Grocera.

1. Who can use Grocera

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe.

2. The beta

Grocera is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed, and data could be lost. Please keep your own copies of anything important, such as original receipts. We may end the beta or limit access at any time. Your feedback helps us improve Grocera, and you agree we can use it without owing you anything.

3. Food safety, allergies, and health

Grocera is a household organizing tool. It is not food-safety, medical, or nutrition advice.

  • Expiration dates are estimates. Always check the package, and look at, smell, and use your own judgment before eating anything. Follow official food-safety guidance.
  • Allergy and diet filters can miss things. Recipes and product data come from outside sources and may be wrong or incomplete. Always read ingredient labels and recipes yourself, especially if you have an allergy.
  • Nutrition figures come from outside sources and are approximate.
  • Grocera is not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian, or allergist.

4. Gro, the AI assistant

Gro's replies are generated by artificial intelligence and can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Gro can miss or misidentify allergens and ingredients, because it relies on product and recipe data that may be wrong. When allergies, medical needs, or food safety are involved, always check the product label and ingredients yourself before eating or serving anything. Gro is not a substitute for that check or for advice from a doctor or allergist, and you are responsible for decisions you make using Gro. Gro only reads your Grocera data. It doesn't change it. We may limit how much you can use Gro.

5. Receipts, spending, and product information

We read receipts automatically, and the results may contain mistakes. Spending totals come from your receipts and are for your own tracking. They aren't financial or tax records. Product names, images, and details may come from outside sources we don't control.

6. Households

When you share with a household, its members can see and, depending on their role, change shared lists, pantry items, and other shared information. Household owners control member roles and permissions. Only invite people you trust. You're responsible for what you add to shared spaces.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you add to Grocera: receipts, photos, lists, notes, and messages. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only as needed to run Grocera for you and your household, as described in our Privacy Policy. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything illegal or harmful.

8. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Grocera. For example, don't:

  • try to reach other people's accounts or data;
  • interfere with or overload our servers, or get around usage limits;
  • reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
  • use Grocera, or Gro, for anything illegal, abusive, or to harass others;
  • scrape, resell, or copy Grocera's service or content.

9. Our rights

Grocera, including its app, design, name, and logo, belongs to us. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Grocera for your own household. They don't give you any other rights to it. Recipe content belongs to its publishers.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Grocera and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or if we need to for legal or safety reasons. Sections 3–5 and 9–14 continue to apply after your access ends.

11. Apple

You get the app through Apple's App Store or TestFlight. These Terms are between you and Grocera, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app, its support, or any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. If these Terms conflict with Apple's standard terms for apps, Apple's terms apply where required.

12. Disclaimers

GROCERA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT GROCERA WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ITS EXPIRATION ESTIMATES, RECIPES, ALLERGY FILTERS, OR AI ANSWERS WILL BE CORRECT.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, GROCERA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA OR PROFITS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT GROCERA IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS OR $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Grocera after changes take effect, you accept the new Terms.
